I want to share some valuable information on how to get the most out of a psychic/tarot/astrology consultation. Whether you’ve had many readings in the past or have been considering booking your first appointment, there is information in this article that will help you maximize your time with any reader.
First, let’s dispel a common myth out there that not every psychic can read everyone. This is somewhat true but not for the reason you think. It is not because they CAN’T read you; consider the possibility that you may be blocking the reading. You just may not be open to the process. This in no way is a reflection of the reader’s skill. Your communication styles may not mesh-THAT is the likely conflict. A good reader will understand how to relate to everyone based on their individual communication type. My years in HR give me a leg up on this one. See? I got something positive out of the corporate world!
“Testing” a reader is another thing we see often. It is not only unnecessary, it is rude and inappropriate behavior that wastes everyone’s time. If you take the time to research the reader’s history, website, referrals from others you will know whether the reader is capable. Playing games, lying about situations to see if they “pick up” on it puts your reader in an uncomfortable situation. I prefer not to have to tell my clients they’re full of bull!. I had a client do this recently-I knew she was not being honest and repeatedly asked her to be truthful about what she was trying to find out. She wasted my time and hers playing games and unfortunately, did not get the help she really needed. Sometimes clients are just scared or guarded. I’ve had to ask clients to uncross their arms, sit back and breathe in order to create the space to give them a good reading if they’re blocked or frightened. Think of it this way, when you go to a doctor’s office, do you look at him, arms crossed, hostile and say “go ahead, guess what’s wrong with me?” Or worse, MAKE UP symptoms to “throw off” the doctor????. Of course not! You want to be helped/healed. There must be an exchange of information in order to facilitate the best outcome, right? You’ll tell him your symptoms and any other pertinent information. It’s the same with psychic readings.
So how can you maximize your reading experience?
The first thing you want to do is prepare your questions. The more direct the question, the more concise the answer. General readings are fine but in my world, a general reading may require a different type of chart to be cast, a different layout of cards. This is information I prefer to know up front. And at least try to have an area of focus that is of priority to you in the reading, i.e. “I want to know mainly about my love life, then career second”. Another thing clients often do is say they want a “general” reading, but really have a specific question in mind. Usually when there’s one minute left, the client will say…”welllllll..what I really wanted to know was….” and now we’re out of time, or it costs you more to get to what you really wanted to know in the first place. BE HONEST. I don’t care if you think it’s the dumbest, most crazy question. It’s not for me to judge. You are paying for the reading-get what you want out of it. For best results keep the questions focused on what YOU can do/see/need to know to improve/change/navigate through your situation.
Feel free to interact with me. During the first part of the reading I may provide information about your situation that allows me to confirm that I’m “tapped into” the appropriate energy. It’s acceptable to verify this. However, too much detail may influence the reading. I get an astonishing amount of information when I open a chart and lay out the cards. It’s like a computer in my brain. There are menus/commands all kinds of things to lead me to where the information is that you need. But you have to help me click the mouse on the right dropdown menu. I promise you, I’m not asking questions so I can tell you what you “want” to hear. I just need to open the right document to find the solution!
Allow me to take the time necessary to access the information. Many times clients fire question after question at me in rapid succession. I take it as a compliment-I’m hitting on what they need, they’re excited, and want to get as many things answered as they can. However, as I said, I get a ton of information coming in to me and need time to listen and find the way to translate the messages. Sometimes things come in cartoon images, or strange metaphors that need to be processed before I can verbalize them. Just give me a sec. I’m a Bostonian-that’s a good thing because I talk extremely fast and I get that you’re sometimes paying by the minute. I promise I won’t waste your time. Another thing, the interpretation may not be literal. Think in terms of a frame of reference- I may get that you teach. You may say “I’m not a teacher, I’m a corporate TRAINER. Think a little outside the box to relate.
Finally, you have made an appointment to visit a psychic. You have already shown openness to experiencing something new and at least an inkling of the thought that there may be more out there than just us little earthlings trying to get by. Try to remain open to the future during the reading. What will be shared with you is the potential based on where you and others are emotionally, spiritually and physically at that given moment. However, you have the ability to exercise your free will. If you don’t like what your future looks like, change it. But please don’t waste your time arguing over whether or not you think it will or won’t happen. We’re looking into the future possibilities. Things haven’t happened yet. Remember, whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right. Study the law of attraction-if you’re negative about your future, that’s what you’ll get!
So to sum it up:
1. Prepare specific questions or know what areas of interest are most important to you.
2. Don’t play games or “test” –do your homework on your reader. If you don’t like their credentials, go to someone else.
3. Provide appropriate amounts of information-not too much, not too little.
4. Don’t be afraid to ask what is truly in your heart.
5. Allow appropriate time for the response-try not to rapid fire questions or irrelevant information.
6. Take notes.
7. Remain open, relax, breathe, trust the process.
If you take these simple steps, you will be able to forge a strong bond with any reader you choose to see and allow yourself to receive consistently accurate and insightful readings.
